2014: Year in Review
This year we officially launched our Contemporary Studies In Scripture series, featuring authors whose works engage in rigorous textual analyses of the Bible and other LDS scripture.
This year we released 4 titles in the series:
- David Bokovoy's Authoring the Old Testament: Genesis - Deuteronomy
- Michael Austin's Re-reading Job: Understanding the Ancient World's Greatest Poem
- Bradley Kramer's Beholding the Tree of Life: A Rabbinic Approach to the Book of Mormon
- Julie Smith's Search, Ponder, and Pray: A Guide to the Gospels
This year we also released a number of exciting new titles treating topics in LDS history, philosophy, and contemporary issues, including:
- Neylan McBaine's thoughtful look at women in the LDS Church
- Russell Stevenson's documentary history of blacks and Mormonism
- Richard Davis's insightful exploration of the relationship between the Gospel of Jesus Christ and progressive politics
- Joe Spencer's rich analysis of the relationship between Paul's letters on hope and early LDS revelations on consecration and Zion
- Marjorie Newton's history of the LDS Church in New Zealand and exploration of the tensions between Maori and Mormon culture
